Engage in Color

If you prefer a colored gemstone rather than the traditional white diamond for an engagement ring, we suggest a colored diamond, sapphire or ruby. These are the only gemstones that are durable enough for everyday wear.

Other gemstones would wear and scratch within a few years. There is a  good reason for the saying "diamonds last forever" as they do not abrade or scratch like other gemstones. 

Sapphire and Ruby

Sapphires have a Moh's hardness of 9, which is the second hardest gemstone after diamond. Sapphires come in a vast spectrum of colors, shapes and sizes. A Ceylon sapphire has a deep saturated blue - luminous, alluring and radiant. Sapphires have been heat treated for thousands of years to enhance their color which is permanent

Colored Diamonds

For maximum sparkle, consider a colored diamond. This is the most durable choice for an engagement ring which is often not taken off. Colored diamonds come in a wide variety of hues. Most colored diamonds are treated to enhance their color but the treatment is permanant.
